Our Team

Dr. Debbie Hrynkiw

Dr. Debbie Hrynkiw graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2005. Soon after graduation she moved to Acton to begin her career and has gained years of valuable experience. She loved living in Acton so much that she decided to stay locally to start a new clinic of her own.

Her husband and three children are animal lovers as well and happily share their home with their two kitties, Cole and Neo, their dogs, BB and Tiberius, and Niblett the bunny.

Outside of work she enjoys camping with her family, gardening and long strolls with her two dogs.

Dr. Kristy DesRoche

Dr. Kristy DesRoche graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2010.  She began her career in Burlington but decided to join our team in 2012.  Kristy is excited to be a part of our enthusiastic and dynamic team and is looking forward to forming new relationships with our wonderful clients.  She currently lives in Milton with her husband, a daughter and son, and her dog Cashus.

Dr. Elad Rosenfeld

Dr. Elad Rosenfeld graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2016. Originally from Israel, Elad worked for several years as a veterinary technician before deciding  to continue his education and pursue his dream of becoming a veterinarian. For as long as he can remember, he was surrounded by animals and this was the most natural next step in his life. He is very excited to be joining the Black Creek family!
Elad currently lives in Guelph with his wife and  two daughters, as well as their dogs Paddy and Whiskey, Rainbow the fish and Speedy the hamster. Outside of work he enjoys playing guitar, riding his bicycle, hiking, camping and everything outdoors.

Maxine McBride

Maxine McBride is our Practice Manager and joined the clinic in 2010. Originally from England, she has lived in Acton for over 20 years. She graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in psychology. She is delighted to be part of the Black Creek Animal Hospital team. Maxine grew up with cats, but today her furry companion is a toy poodle, Rupert.

Lisa Marshall

Lisa Marshall is our part-time Senior Registered Veterinary Technician. She graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in biology in 2005 before going on to the veterinary technician program at Ridgetown College. Lisa joined the Black Creek team in 2010 (before we opened our doors!)  She has grown up with cats and dogs and has always felt she wanted to work with animals.  Lisa is an amazing resource for our clients and their pets. Her home is shared with her dog Flirt, who was adopted from her school Ridgetown and her cat Adelaide who was adopted from Black Creek Animal Hospital.

Stacy Thurlbeck

Stacy is one of our part-time Registered Veterinary Technicians. She began working at Black Creek as a co-op student in January 2011. She joined our team as a staff member in May 2011. Growing up with pets, Stacy has always wanted to work with animals and began gaining experience in the veterinary field while in high school.  She graduated from the University of Guelph in 2008 with a degree in Biological Science and a minor in Zoology.  She went on to complete the Veterinary Technician program at Seneca College in spring 2011.  Stacy shares her home with her dog Bentley, and her cats Mitzy and Murphy.  In her spare time she enjoys gardening, reading, knitting, and walks with Bentley.  She has a very gentle approach with our clients and enjoys helping them with their pets’ health care.

Angel-Lee Harvey

Angel is one of our part-time Registered Veterinary Technicians and our Nutrition Counselor. We were so happy to welcome Angel to the Black Creek team in 2013. Angel became an RVT in 2012 after attending St Lawrence College. Angel has a great relationship with our clients and their furry family members. Angel has a chatty calico cat named Darla and in her spare time she enjoys walking the trails with her Jack Russell Terrier. Having just relocated to the area she is looking forward to exploring Guelph and Halton Hills.

Kristen Janke

Kristen arrived at the clinic as a volunteer in 2013, and joined the team as a veterinary assistant/receptionist in the fall of 2016. After a many years spent as an outdoor educator, she decided to pursue a career as a veterinarian. She is mid-way through the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at Ontario Veterinary College, and is excited to get to know Black Creek and its clients at a whole new level. She is particularly fond of senior animals, pocket pets, and all things wild; and she shares her home with her husband, her dog Bug, and her cat Ray.

Deanna Glasgow

Deanna is one of our part-time veterinary assistants/receptionists. Deanna began as a summer volunteer in 2013 and we were impressed by her dependability and work ethic. When a position became available we were delighted that Deanna was able to fill it. Deanna is currently attending vet school at the Ontario Veterinary College. Deanna lives with a variety of small furry creatures and has recently added a very handsome GSP called Findley to her family.

Alicia Pope

Alicia is our part-time kennel assistant/receptionist. Alicia first came to Black Creek Animal Hospital as a volunteer in 2015. She completed 250 volunteer hours and proved to be punctual, reliable and hardworking. Her quiet competence and calm approach made her a great choice for a role within the team at Black Creek in 2016. Alicia graduated from the veterinary assistant program at Northern College. We know our furry clients and their owners love Alicia's gentle approach.
